A Chrome extension is exactly like an app on your phone. They’re a small software program that adds new features or modifies existing ones in the Google Chrome web browser to customize the user experience. Think how boring your phone would be without any apps, well this is no different. These extensions can be productivity tools like password managers and grammar checkers, security enhancements like ad blockers, or other helpful functions like a note-taking tool. As of 2024 the Chrome Web Store hosts approximately 138,000 extensions, so they are extremely popular! In our case, the Guest Inspect Chrome extension has been built to help hosts detect bad guests on short term rental platforms like AirBnB and Booking.com, amongst other features.

Do I need to install it?

Technically, no, you can still screen guests through our inspection feature on our website dashboard, however that report will only surface prior guest incidents and won’t be as detailed compared to our Chrome extension. You also won’t be able to leave guest reviews or view reciprocal reviews without the extension. So yes whilst you can still utilise Guest Inspect without installing it, you’ll be missing out on a lot of features and we want you to get your moneys worth!
